April 2026
Lite was discontinued: new sales stopped on 20 March 2026 and renewals on 13 April, leaving Pro as the only Coding Plan. The half-price first renewal ended on 1 April.
January 2026
The Coding Plan went on sale with Lite and Pro tiers: ¥40 and ¥200 a month in China from 9 January, and $10 and $50 internationally from 16 January, with discounted first months.
How to cancel Alibaba Cloud Coding Plan
- 1Open the Alibaba Cloud billing console and go to renewal management (续费管理 in China).
- 2On the Auto-Renewal tab, find the Coding Plan and switch it to manual renewal, or set it not to renew at expiry.
- 3Do it before the renewal is deducted: in China that starts nine days before the plan expires.
- 4An expired plan cannot be renewed; subscribing again issues a new API key, so update your tools.
Alibaba Cloud documents this flow for its billing console generally; the Coding Plan FAQ only points to the renewal page. Payments are not refunded.

Stock is limited: new slots open every day (09:30 China time, or midnight UTC+8 internationally) and sell out. In China, auto-renewal can only draw on your Alibaba Cloud account balance, not a bank card or Alipay, and starts nine days before expiry, so an empty balance lets the plan lapse, and subscribing again resets your API key. The service agreement lets Alibaba use inputs and outputs for service improvement and model optimisation. It is for one person, one plan per account, billed monthly only.
Free trial policy
No free trial: the Coding Plan is excluded from Model Studio's free quota. New subscribers in China pay ¥39.90 for the first Pro month, then ¥200.

In China, Coding Plan auto-renewal only deducts your Alibaba Cloud account balance; it does not charge a bank card or Alipay. It tries daily from nine days before expiry, and if the balance is short every time, the plan expires and a new subscription gets a new API key.
