Dropbox does not refund outside the EU, UK and Turkey, where the law gives you 14 days, so an annual plan is money spent the moment it bills. After a downgrade nothing is deleted, but if you hold more than the 2 GB Basic quota syncing stops on every device until you get under it, so files you add on one machine will not reach the others. The '$9.99 a month' annual price is charged as $119.88 in one go, which surprises people who expected a monthly card line. Plus and Family both give 2 TB, Family just shares it across up to six people, so a household paying for two Plus accounts is overpaying. Expect the cancel flow to push a discounted pause and a Dash upsell before it lets you finish.

How do I cancel Dropbox?
Start here: Sign in at dropbox.com in a web browser (not the mobile app), click your avatar in the bottom left and choose Settings (or Manage account). Complete the remaining confirmation steps before leaving the account page, and save the cancellation email or screenshot.
What happens to my files if I cancel Dropbox Plus?
They stay in your account and on any computer where they are synced. At the end of the paid period you drop to Basic with 2 GB; if you are storing more than that, Dropbox stops syncing new changes on every device until you delete or move files to get under the limit.
Can I get a refund from Dropbox?
Usually not. Dropbox's terms exclude refunds for unused time, including the rest of an annual plan. The exception is the EU, UK and Turkey, where you can cancel within 14 days of purchase and ask support for a refund. If you paid through the App Store or Google Play, refund requests go to Apple or Google instead.
