How to cancel iCloud+
- 1On your iPhone or iPad open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- 2Tap iCloud+ under Active.
- 3Tap Cancel Subscription to fall back to the free 5 GB, or See All Plans to move to a smaller tier.
- 4The change applies at the end of the current billing period, so get under the new limit before then or backups and syncing stop.
iCloud+ that comes with Apple One cannot be cancelled on its own; manage the Apple One plan instead. On a Mac: System Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage → Change Storage Plan.
Open the official account or cancellation pageWhat to know before you cancel
There is no annual plan and no prorated refund: a downgrade or cancellation only takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for. If your data is above the new limit nothing is deleted, but iCloud stops backing up your iPhone and syncing Photos and Drive until you free space, which is how people quietly lose their backup. The charge is billed by Apple alongside App Store purchases, so it hides among other Apple lines on your statement. The 200 GB and 2 TB tiers can be shared with up to five family members, so cancelling cuts them off too. Apple One bundles 50 GB (Individual, $21.95), 200 GB (Family, $27.95) or 2 TB (Premier, $39.95) with Music, TV+ and Arcade, and the iCloud+ inside it is managed through the bundle.

How do I cancel iCloud+?
Start here: On your iPhone or iPad open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Complete the remaining confirmation steps before leaving the account page, and save the cancellation email or screenshot.
What happens to my photos if I cancel iCloud+?
Nothing is deleted. At the end of the paid period you drop to the free 5 GB, and if your library is larger than that, iCloud stops syncing Photos and backing up your iPhone until you free space or subscribe again. Photos already downloaded to your devices stay there, so copy anything you only keep in iCloud to a computer before you cancel.
Is Apple One cheaper than paying for iCloud+ separately?
Only if you would pay for Apple Music or TV+ anyway. Apple One Individual is $21.95 for 50 GB of iCloud+ with Music, TV+ and Arcade, Family is $27.95 with 200 GB, and Premier is $39.95 with 2 TB. On storage alone, iCloud+ costs $0.99, $2.99 or $9.99, so the bundle is only worth it for the other services.
