January 2026
OpenCode Go launched at $10/month, with a $5 first month, as a flat-rate pass over open models. The OpenCode client itself stayed free and open source.
How to cancel OpenCode Go
- 1Sign in to the OpenCode console at opencode.ai and open Billing.
- 2Select the Go subscription and choose Cancel.
- 3Confirm; the pass runs until the end of the month you paid for.
- 4Cancelling Go does not touch a Zen balance. Credits you already bought stay on the account and remain spendable.
Go and Zen are separate purchases on the same account. Cancelling the $10 pass leaves any Zen credit balance untouched and still billable against, which is the usual source of a surprise charge after cancelling.

The limits are denominated in dollars of model usage, not requests, which makes this the rare subscription whose allowance changes meaning depending on what you run: $12 per 5 hours buys thousands of calls on a cheap model and barely a hundred on an expensive one. The setting that costs people money is Use balance. Leave it on and Go silently falls through to your Zen credit balance once a cap is hit instead of stopping, turning a flat $10 into a metered bill. Turn it off if you want the $10 to be the whole cost. The client is open source and free; only the model access is paid, so cancelling leaves your editor working.
Free trial policy
No free trial, but the first month currently costs $5 instead of $10, and the OpenCode client works free of charge with your own provider keys.
Frequently asked questions
How much is OpenCode Go?
Current US list prices for OpenCode Go are Go (monthly): $10/mo. Taxes, promotions, bundles, and third-party billing can change the final price.
How do I cancel OpenCode Go?
Start here: Sign in to the OpenCode console at opencode.ai and open Billing. Complete the remaining confirmation steps before leaving the account page, and save the cancellation email or screenshot.
Do I need OpenCode Go to use OpenCode?
No. The OpenCode client is open source and free, and it will happily use an API key or subscription you already have. Go is only a convenience: one $10 monthly charge instead of per-token billing across several providers.
Why did I get charged more than $10 for OpenCode Go?
Almost certainly the Use balance option. With it enabled, hitting a 5-hour, weekly or monthly cap does not block your requests; it draws on your Zen credit balance instead, and topping that balance up is a separate charge. Disable it in the console to make $10 a hard ceiling.
