The short answer
Disney owns both, prices them identically at $11.99 with ads and $18.99 without, and would rather you bought the bundle. Paying for both separately with ads costs $23.98; the Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle is $16.99 with ads and $29.99 ad-free, so the standalone 'versus' only matters if you want exactly one. Hulu offers a 30-day trial and a 12-week pause; Disney+ offers an annual plan at $189.99 and tends to show a retention discount when you try to cancel.
Both entry plans cost the same per year.

Which one should you pick?
Choose Disney+ if…
Pick Disney+ alone if the household watches Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars and you want the annual discount. Only one Extra Member slot is allowed per account, so it is not a good fit for sharing across homes.
Choose Hulu if…
Pick Hulu alone if you want next-day network TV, FX and adult-oriented series, a trial before you commit, or the ability to pause rather than cancel. Avoid the Live TV tier unless you actually watch live channels.

How to run both without paying for both
If you want both for more than a couple of months a year, buy the bundle and cancel the standalone subscriptions; bundle subscribers must manage everything from the Disney+ account. If you only want one at a time, alternate: Hulu paused while a Disney+ month runs, then the reverse.

Yes. Separately the two ad-supported plans cost $23.98 a month; the Disney+, Hulu and Max bundle with ads is $16.99 and includes a third service. Ad-free, separate plans cost $37.98 versus $29.99 for the bundle.
How do I cancel Hulu if it is part of my Disney bundle?
From the Disney+ account page, not from Hulu. Bundle billing runs through Disney, so cancelling inside Hulu will not stop the charge.
