Hulu vs Peacock: price, plans, and which to keep

Current US prices, price history, trial terms, and cancellation friction side by side, built from our service guides. Last reviewed August 26, 2026.

The short answer

Peacock undercuts Hulu at list price, $7.99 for Select and $10.99 for Premium against Hulu's $11.99, and $16.99 ad-free against $18.99, but it is also the streamer that rose the most in 2025, with Premium up 38% in August. Peacock is really a promo product: its $1.99-a-month Black Friday deals have appeared every year, so paying list price usually means you subscribed at the wrong time. Hulu has the deeper library, a 30-day trial and a 12-week pause; Peacock has NBC sports, where even Premium Plus still shows ads.

Peacock is cheaper by $48 a year on its entry plan.

Which one should you pick?

Choose Hulu if…

Pick Hulu if you want a general-purpose library, next-day network TV, and flexibility: trial first, pause when nothing is on. Skip Hulu + Live TV at $89.99 unless you watch live channels.

Choose Peacock if…

Pick Peacock if you follow NBC sports or specific NBC and Bravo shows, and you can subscribe during a promotion. Set a reminder for the day the promo rate ends; it reverts to full price silently.
