The short answer
WHOOP costs $199 to $359 a year and requires a 12-month commitment, and its sensor stops syncing entirely the day the membership ends. Strava is $79.99 a year with no commitment, and every activity you ever logged stays on the free tier if you cancel. Many WHOOP members also pay for Strava, which is the overlap to question: Strava's 24-hour cancellation notice and WHOOP's early-termination terms make the exit paths very different.

Choose Strava if…
Pick Strava if you want training analysis, routes and the social layer for a price you can drop any season. Cancel on the same platform you subscribed on, at least 24 hours before renewal.
Choose WHOOP if…
Pick WHOOP if 24/7 recovery and sleep data is what you will act on daily, and you accept a year-long commitment. Export your data before the membership lapses; the hardware is a paperweight without it.

Use WHOOP's 30-day trial seriously; it needs the hardware returned if you do not keep it, so decide before day 30. If you keep WHOOP, question whether Strava's paid tier still earns its $79.99 or whether the free tier plus WHOOP covers you.
